The festive season is one of the most magical times of year in the City, and Brian, General Manager at Barbican Bar & Grill, cannot wait for the incredible programme of events taking place at the Barbican Centre this Christmas.
Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season
This year, the Barbican Centre will once again host the annual Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season 2026, bringing a spectacular lineup of classical, choral and cinematic concerts to the iconic Barbican Hall. From Carol Singalongs and Candlelit Carols to the much-loved Christmas with King’s College Choir, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy throughout the festive period.
While every event promises to be incredible, our General Manager, Brian, is particularly excited about The Music of Zimmer vs. Williams.
“As a huge film music fan, this is the concert I’m most looking forward to this Christmas season,” says Brian. “The scores of Hans Zimmer and John Williams have shaped some of the most iconic films of all time, and hearing them performed live by a full orchestra is always something special. As a long-time Jurassic Park fan, I have to admit that John Williams’ music holds a special place in my heart, but I think audiences will love experiencing the spectacle of both composers’ work side by side.”
Performed by the acclaimed London Concert Orchestra, audiences will be treated to some of the most iconic film scores ever written. Expect music from beloved blockbusters including Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Harry Potter and many more, as the timeless compositions of Hans Zimmer and John Williams are brought to life on stage.
